Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and 848combat for your use of 848combat.com and everything we provide through it. By using the site — reading it, holding an account, posting, picking or following a link from it — you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with personal data and forms part of these terms.

Who we are

848combat.com is operated by Guerrilla Syndicate Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17480806, whose registered office is at 128 City Road, London EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. 848combat is a trading name of Guerrilla Syndicate Limited (“848combat”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at hello@848combat.com.

848combat is an independent reference and media site for mixed martial arts: fight cards, fighter records, results, rankings, statistics, odds, articles and a community of members. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for the UFC, PFL, OKTAGON or any other promotion, sanctioning body, bookmaker or broadcaster. Their names and marks belong to them and are used here only to refer to them. We do not organise, broadcast or sell tickets to anything, and we are not a bookmaker.

Using the site

The site carries betting odds and links to bookmakers, and may carry betting offers and advertising. It is for adults: you must be 18 or over to use it, or older if the law where you live sets a higher age for betting content, and you must not use it from anywhere it would be unlawful to do so. You are responsible for knowing and keeping to the law where you are.

We may make parts of the site, and particular odds, bookmakers, offers or features, available only in some countries or regions, and may change that at any time. Do not try to get round a restriction based on where you are.

The site is for your personal, non-commercial use, except where we agree otherwise in writing. Any app we release, and any feature we offer through another platform, is also governed by these terms and by that platform’s own terms.

Your account

You do not need an account to read the site. To post, vote, pick or follow, you need one, and to hold one you must be at least 18 and give an email address you control: a one-time code sent there is the only way in, so anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you. Keep it secure, tell us at once if you think someone else has used your account, and accept that you are responsible for everything done through it until you do.

One account per person. Do not create an account for someone else, share, lend, sell or transfer yours, or open another after we have closed one. Choose a username that does not impersonate a fighter, an official, a promotion, a bookmaker, a member or us, is not offensive, and does not infringe anyone’s rights; we may change or reclaim a username that does, or that is needed for a good reason. We may refuse an account, close one that breaks these terms, or close one that has been unused for a long time after telling you. You can delete your account yourself at any time from your account page.

What we publish, and how far to trust it

The cards, results, records, statistics, rankings, odds and biographical details on the site are compiled from third-party sports data feeds, public reference sources and, in places, our own work. We work hard to keep it accurate, but it is offered as it is: it will sometimes be wrong, late, incomplete or out of date. Records get revised, bouts get scrapped, results get overturned, rankings move and prices change. Nothing here is an official record of any promotion, commission or bookmaker, and nothing here is advice of any kind. Do not rely on the site for any decision that matters to you — a bet included — without checking a primary source.

The portraits. Most faces on the site are illustrations, not photographs: they are drawn in one house style by an AI image model from a reference photograph we hold for that fighter, to identify the fighter consistently from page to page. They are not documentary images and not a record of how anyone looked on any particular night. Where no illustration exists you are seeing a photograph, and where we have no picture at all you are seeing our own silhouette.

The articles. The ranked articles and any other editorial we publish are our own reading of the public record and our opinion, written with the help of AI tools and checked against our data before publication. A bout linked from an article is a fact from our data; everything else in it is commentary. Opinions are opinions, and a statement that was true when written may date. If we have something wrong, write to us and we will correct it.

We may change, correct, restrict, move or remove any content at any time without notice, and we do not promise to keep any page at any particular address.

Odds, betting and bookmakers

The odds on the site are bookmakers’ prices as they stood when we last fetched them: for each side of a bout, the best price we saw among the bookmakers we follow and, where those bookmakers are licensed where you are, the bookmaker offering it. Elsewhere you see the price alone. Which bookmakers you are shown, and so which prices, depends on where you are. Prices move constantly and can be out of date, suspended, withdrawn or simply wrong by the time you see them; the bookmaker may not be available where you are; and which bookmakers we follow is our choice, which may take account of our commercial relationships. A price here is information about what a bookmaker was offering — not an offer to take a bet, not a recommendation, and not betting advice. Verify the price with the bookmaker before acting on it.

We are not a bookmaker or a betting exchange. We do not take bets, hold your money, process winnings or have any part in a bet you place. Where a bookmaker is shown, its name and price are a link to that bookmaker’s own site, which opens in a new tab: from there on you are dealing with the bookmaker under its terms, its licence and its own checks, and any dispute about a bet, an account or a payment is between you and it.

Betting is lawful only in some places and only for adults, and the age varies. Before you bet, satisfy yourself that it is lawful where you are, that you are old enough, and that the operator is licensed there. Affiliate links, advertising and sponsorship

We are paid by some of the bookmakers we link to for the readers we send them — the standard arrangement between a site like this one and a bookmaker. Some links on the site to bookmakers and other partners are, or may become, affiliate links: if you follow one and open an account, deposit, bet or buy something, we may be paid a commission by the partner or by a network acting for it. That never costs you more than going to the partner directly. It may influence which partners and offers we show and where we place them; it does not change a price, which is the bookmaker’s own. We may also show advertising, sponsored content, promotions and offers, from partners or on our own behalf, and where the law requires it we will mark a paid placement as such.

An advert, an offer or a link is not our endorsement of the partner or a guarantee of anything it says. Any offer is the partner’s, made on the partner’s terms — read them, including any significant conditions, before you accept — and any complaint about an offer, an account or a payment is for the partner. We are not a party to any dealing between you and a partner and are not responsible for it.

Other people’s sites and services

The site links to, and may embed content from, other people’s sites and services — bookmakers, promotions, reference sites, video and social platforms, payment and verification providers. We do not control them, we are not responsible for what they publish, collect or do, and a link is not an endorsement. Each has its own terms and privacy policy, which apply from the moment you reach it.

What you post

“Your content” means anything you post, submit or make available through the site: comments, votes, picks, your username and picture, anything you enter in a competition or survey, and anything you send us. You are responsible for it. Do not post, and do not use the site to send or link to, anything that:

You keep what you own; we get a licence to use it. You keep ownership of your content. By posting it you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable licence, with the right to sublicense, to host, store, copy, reformat, adapt, translate, display, distribute and otherwise use it on the site and in connection with the site — including in the picks images and other features that reproduce it, in search results and previews, on our accounts on social platforms, and in promoting the site — for as long as it is on the site. Delete it, or delete your account, and the licence ends for new uses, allowing for copies already made by others and by search engines, promotional material already produced, and copies kept in backups for a short period. You give up, so far as the law where you live allows, any moral rights that would stop us using your content this way. You promise that you have the right to give this licence and that your content breaks none of the rules above. Your picture is one of the fighter portraits already on the site; picking it gives you no rights in it. If you send us ideas or feedback about the site, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Moderation. We do not review posts in advance, and a post being visible is not our endorsement or our opinion. We may — with automated tools as well as by hand — remove, hide, edit, restrict, label or decline to show any content, and warn, restrict, suspend or close any account, where we believe these terms have been broken, the law requires it, or the site or its members are at risk, with or without notice, and we may keep a copy of removed content and disclose it to the authorities where the law requires or allows. Where the law requires it, we will tell you why we acted and how to contest it.

Reporting. To report content that breaks these rules, or that you believe is unlawful, write to hello@848combat.com with a link to the page it is on and what is wrong with it. We aim to look at every report promptly, normally within a week, and to tell you what we did. If you disagree with a decision we have taken about your content or your account, reply to our notice and tell us why; we will look again and answer. Nothing here limits any right you have to complain to a regulator or to go to court.

Picks, scores and competitions

Fight picks, comment scores, standings and anything of the kind are for fun and for the community. They are public, they are graded and ranked by rules we set and may change, and we may correct, void or reset them — for example when a bout is cancelled or a result is overturned. Unless we say so in writing, no pick, score or standing carries a prize, a payment or any other entitlement. Where we run a competition, prize draw or promotion, it will carry its own rules, which apply alongside these terms and take precedence over them for that competition. Picks are not betting tips, and the site must not be used to arrange or settle bets between members.

Ours, and other people’s

The design, code, written copy, brand, name and logo of 848combat, and the site as a compilation — the way the data is selected, arranged and presented — are ours, and are protected by copyright, database and trade mark laws. You may read the site, link to any page, share a link, and quote short passages with attribution. You may not otherwise copy, reproduce, republish, frame, mirror, sell, license or commercially exploit the site or any substantial part of its content; extract or reuse its data in bulk; or use its content to train, tune or evaluate a machine-learning model, in each case without our written permission. If you want the data or the content for a project, ask us.

The portrait illustrations are drawn from reference photographs that belong to others; we claim no more in them than the drawing itself, and we do not license them to you. Fighter photographs, promotional imagery, bookmaker marks and licensed data belong to their owners and appear here on the terms each source allows, some of it — by our decision and on our responsibility — without the attribution its licence would ask for. Bare sporting facts — who fought whom, when, and how it ended — are nobody’s property, and we make no claim over them.

Takedowns. If you own something on the site and believe it is here without permission, write to hello@848combat.com identifying the material, the page it is on, your right in it and how to reach you, and confirming that you believe in good faith its use here is not authorised. We will answer within a week, take the material down while we look if the claim is plausible on its face, and may pass your notice to whoever posted it so that they can respond. We close the accounts of repeat infringers.

Acceptable use

Whatever else these terms say, you must not:

Changes to the site, and paid features

The site is free to use today. We may change, add to, suspend or discontinue any part of it, any feature and any content at any time, introduce features on a trial basis, and introduce paid features, subscriptions, memberships or products. Anything we charge for will carry its own terms — price, term, renewal, cancellation and refunds — which will apply alongside these, and any purchase you make will be handled by a payment provider under its terms. We do not promise that the site will always be available, always be current, or keep any feature or page.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the site at any time and delete your account from your account page. We may suspend or end your access, or close your account, if we reasonably believe you have broken these terms, if the law requires it, if we are protecting the site or other people, or if we discontinue the service — with notice where the law requires it. When your account ends, your profile and content leave the site as described in the Privacy Policy; the licence you gave us continues for copies already made and for the short period content stays in backups; and the parts of these terms that by their nature should survive — about our content, your content, liability, indemnity, disputes and the general clauses — survive.

No warranties

The site and everything on it are provided as they are and as available, without any warranty or promise, express or implied, that they are accurate, complete, current, reliable, secure, free of errors or viruses, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Nothing on the site is professional, financial, legal, medical or betting advice, and nothing said by us or by anyone on the site creates a warranty. Some laws do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only so far as the law allows.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude or limit — and if you are a consumer, nothing here takes away rights the law where you live gives you and does not let you give up.

Subject to that, we are not liable to you for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your inability to use it, from anything published on it or missing from it, from any bet or other decision you take in reliance on it, from any dealing with a bookmaker, advertiser or other third party you reached through it, from any content another member posted, or from any interruption, error, virus or loss of data — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), under statute or otherwise, and whether or not we were told it might happen. In particular we are not liable for betting losses, lost winnings, lost profits, lost revenue, lost business, lost data, wasted expenditure or any indirect or consequential loss. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for everything arising in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period (which, while the site is free, is nothing) or, if the law requires a higher figure, the lowest figure it allows.

Your responsibility to us

So far as the law where you live allows, you will compensate us, and anyone working for us, for any loss, liability, claim or cost (including reasonable legal fees) that arises from your content, from your breach of these terms, or from your breach of any law or of anyone else’s rights in using the site.

Governing law and disputes

If you have a problem with the site or with us, write to us first at hello@848combat.com and we will try to sort it out with you. We are not required to take part in any alternative dispute resolution scheme and do not offer one.

These terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or with your use of the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over them — except that if you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory rules of the law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim, or be sued, in the courts of that country.

General

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site and the law change; the date at the top says when we last did. A change that materially affects what you can do here, what we may do with what you post, or what we are responsible for will be announced on the site, and to members by email where appropriate, before it takes effect. Using the site after that date means you accept the new version; if you do not, stop using the site and, if you have one, delete your account.
